Silver Dusk Marble and Other Kitchen Details at 2507 Pacific Avenue , 2507 Pacific Avenue's Blog on Bigsight
January, 2012
An exceptional property in San Francisco’s historic pacific heights neighborhood, 2507 Pacific Avenue has recently undergone full renovation under the direction of Joe Toboni. Of particular note is the house’s fully equipped kitchen area, which combines inviting hand-detailed cabinetry with modern appliances, including a Subzero glass-front refrigerator, a digital Wolf fuel range with an eight-foot hood, and a Miele coffee station and speed oven.

The kitchen also offers a “painted furniture” island that runs in symmetrical alignment with the fuel range. The true luxury of the cooking area is in its details, which include countertops of rare Silver Dusk marble. This highly prized stone is an off-white color, with a natural veining of darker grey and silver. The use of this subtle and evocative stone type reflects a trend of minimalist architects such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, bringing warmth to designs through marble elements.
A prominent use of Silver Dusk marble has been the suites and spa areas of The Trump Soho hotel, a premier luxury hotel in Manhattan. The project owner selected Walker Zanger’s Silver Dusk marble as an ideal complement to the modern ambiance of the hotel’s interiors and architecture. The Silver Dusk marble countertops at 2507 Pacific are complemented by a grained limestone backsplash, which adds a warm and inviting quality to the entire kitchen area.
The Victorian-style house at 2507 Pacific Avenue offers residents a host of other amenities, including two furnished media rooms, a basement wine cellar with wall-to-ceiling glass, and a Frank and Grossman Co. landscaped rear yard.
