Aaron's Nursery in Sumner, GeorgiaBased in Sumner, Georgia, Aaron’s Nursery is a leading provider of trees, bushes, vines, and other plants to Internet and in-person customers. One of the major categories of plants shipped by Aaron’s Nursery is the apple tree. Because of its location in the South, Aaron’s Nursery specializes in numerous varieties of apple trees that are specially adapted to warmer climates, though the company offers more traditional apple varietals as well. Many of the Deep South apple trees offered by Aaron’s Nursery were originally cultivated in Israel, which has a warm climate that is comparable to that of the American South. The Anna apple tree, developed by Israeli scientists, requires very little cold weather to flower and set fruit that is ideal for making caramel apples. Another Deep South apple tree offered by Aaron’s Nursery is the Dorsett Golden Apple Tree, which originates in the Bahamas. The Dorsett tree produces a mid-sized, yellow apple that is ideal for juicing or use in pies. The Ein Shemer apple tree is also available at Aaron’s Nursery, and it produces bright yellow fruit that is slightly larger than that of the Anna tree. Also originating in Israel, the Ein Shemer lends acidic, sweet fruit that ripens early in the season. The final Deep South apple tree offered by Aaron’s Nursery is the Fuji variety. Unlike the other three Deep South trees, the Fuji ripens late in the season, reaching its peak in the fall. One of the largest apple cultivars, the Fuji apple has been chosen by taste experts as the best apple for desserts. In addition to its selection of Deep South apple trees, Aaron’s Nursery stocks a full complement of traditional apple trees, designed for colder climates. Consumers can purchase supermarket standards like the Gala, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, or Red Rome, or choose a lesser-known tree like the Arkansas Black or the Grimes Golden.
