Abby Shy is a woman of many trades… She is the co-director of a Christian Community House in Kent, OH for Kent State University Students, Hospitality Chairperson at her home church in Akron, OH, Servant leader in a non-profit Christian organization on Kent’s Campus, Secretary at a church in Stow, OH, and an Event Planner in her spare time.
Abby has a servants heart, and many dreams for her future. One of her ambitions is to work in Africa, providing jobs with fair working conditions and fair wages for those who have none of that. Through a Spring Break Missions trip to Washington DC, her heart and mind was opened to the homeless and those who need God. The group she went with had dinner at an Ethiopian Restaurant with Steve Garber, who (probably unknown to him) spoke God’s truth and love into her heart and soul, encouraging her to think that God’s plan for her may be bigger than the one she had for herself.
