My name is Abe Moussa. In 1988 I immigrated to the United States. It was then that I started washing dishes at a local restaurant called Sweetwater’s on Gulf to Bay. From this I worked my way to the upper management and ended up running the place. Sweetwater’s is even where I met my wife (Denise) of 15 years.

In September, 1998 I bought a small bar in largo called Mugs ‘n Jugs from Norm and Gloria Westerback. I grew the business from a small local bar to one of the busiest restaurants and bars in the county. We ranked in the top five independent restaurants in the county.

2004 was when I purchased a second location on Missouri Ave in Clearwater, called the Stadium, and turned it into Mugs ‘n Jugs. May 2008 I sold the original location in Largo to a guy from Texas while my wife and I retained the free standing restaurant in Clearwater. November of 2008 I changed the name of the current location from Mugs ‘n Jugs to “ Mugs Grill & Bar on Missouri.”

It’s been my dream to kick the popular American restaurant and sports bar up a notch. This is why I gave the restaurant a new name, a new makeover from kitchen to front door, and a new take out area, all while keeping all the people’s choice votes for “Clearwater’s Best Wings” and “Clearwater’s Best Sports Bar”.

I am passionate about the restaurant industry and listening to my customers.
