Supporting Grassroots Leaders Globally

As Director of Development and Partnerships at Leaders’ Quest Foundation, Aditi’s role is to build and sustain long term relationships with key donors and partners, both individuals and institutions, in order to support grassroots leaders catalyse social change in their communities in India, China, Brazil and Souh Africa. Aditi is based at the Leaders’ Quest office in London.

Aditi was the first Chief Operating Officer of EdelGive Foundation from mid 2008 to March 2012. EdelGive Foundation (www.edelgive.org) is the not-for-profit subsidiary of Edelweiss, a leading Indian financial services company. Through providing non-profits working in the sectors of education, livelihoods and women empowerment a combination of finance, access to networks and pro-bono expertise, EdelGive focuses on sectoral transformation and systemic change.

Aditi is a member of the India Advisory Group of the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network.

Previously, she was consultant to GIZ’s (German Technical Cooperation) programme in India on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The objective of this programme was to evolve a CSR policy for India, promote public-private initiatives on CSR and develop sustainable CSR strategies.

Aditi held the post of Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, the political and executive head of the northern Indian desert state from October 2005- Dec 2007. She focused specifically on social development issues across sectors such as urban development, heritage conservation, water, health and education, catalysing partnerships between government departments and the NGO sector in the state, nationally and internationally.

Her earlier experience was with NGO SPARC (2003-2005) in Mumbai where she was Program Manager for a Slum Sanitation Programme implemented with World Bank assistance. While at SPARC, she supported a large community based organisation of slum dwellers, the National Slum Dwellers Federation to access housing, credit, and other essential services.

Aditi has a degree both from the University of Oxford, UK, in Philosophy Politics and Economics (she graduated in 2003) and from St. Xavier’s College (graduated in 2001), Mumbai, India in English Literature. She was awarded a full scholarship- the Radhakrishnan British Chevening Scholarship for her two-year course at Oxford.

Apart from her expertise in the development sector, Aditi is a published poet. Her works have appeared in publications such as the Oxonian Review, The Little Magazine, Level Information Project, Open Space India and others.
