Alan Azizollahoff was born in Durban, South Africa in 1959. He grew up there and completed his schooling at the city’s Jewish day school, Carmel College. After matriculating, Azizollahoff moved to Israel to study at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, from which he graduated with a BA in Industrial Design. Marriage to the Peruvian Oriana Franco led to Azizollahoff’s relocation to Peru after his studies.

1985 saw the start of his career in the gaming business when he invested in Inversiones San Juan, a Peruvian company that owned the Bingo Camino Real, one of the main bingo halls in Peru. Alan went on to become the CEO and major shareholder in Inversiones Hobby SAC, which was one of the earliest companies dedicated to electronic casino operations in Peru. With Azizollahoff at the helm , the company became one of the most successful of its kind in the country.

Seeing the potential of gaming, Alan Azizollahoff continued to grow, invest and diversify in this field. In 1996, together with a technology developer, he founded Heal Technology, today a group of companies that specializes in the development of technologies for the entertainment and gaming industries. The company boasts presence of its products in 15 countries, and designs, develops, manufactures and markets these products from the production facilities in Buenos Aires, Bogota and Lima. Products include electronic roulettes and control systems for gaming.

Set on increasing his share of the growing gaming market in Peru, and following the acquisition of Sodak Gaming Inc. by IGT, in 1999 Azizollahoff acquired the Peruvian subsidiary of the company. This positioned him more firmly on the gaming world map, giving him 22 locations in Peru. The following year saw the acquisition of the Peruvian subsidiary of Hilton Group PLC., Ladbroke Peru, further increasing his market share and adding another five locations in Lima. Today these businesses are grouped under Azizollahoff’s management company, South American Gaming that was founded in 2004.

Aiming to extend his gaming activities to the international market, in 2002 Alan Azizollahoff, his wife and children relocated to Miami, Florida. He founded the Jade Water Group Inc., an umbrella company to manage his various business and holding companies in Central and South America. The company’s activities include consultancy, sales and software development for the industry. Alan is a majority shareholder of the groups, as well as serving as the COO. Today, as well as managing his own companies, Azizollahoff operates as a distributor in South America, representing major manufacturers of gaming machines, such as Bally Gaming in Venezuela, Ainsworth Gaming in Argentina, Williams Gaming in Peru, and Aristocrat Gaming in Colombia.

One of Azizollahoff’s latest ventures is a partnership to develop a US$ 100 million gaming venue in Chile, which will include a casino, a 5-star hotel, spa and convention center.

In his spare time Azizollahoff is something of a connoisseur of the arts, interested in Pre Colombian art, young modern artists and contemporary art. Alan also enjoys travel, and quality time with his family. Alan Azizollahoff and his wife are prominent philanthropists, contributing to a number of causes.
