new to bigsight112, Chicago, Illinois“If you can’t run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.” This is the quote that Mr. Alan T. Stutts lives by in all of his endeavors. He strives to reach the pinnacle of success in each and every pursuit he takes on, and his career is no exception. Alan works in the educational field and has for many years. He first began his career in education in 1983 when he joined the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as associate dean and professor. He continued in this position for 10 years, until he was offered a job with the University of Houston Conrad Hilton College. There he was dean, a professor, and distinguished chair. In this role Mr. Stutts improved many of the problems the school was experiencing before his employment began. It was close to financial ruin, but Stutts was able to lift the school away from its fiscal woes and transform it into an effective institution that later experienced tremendous growth. After serving in this position for about eight years, Stutts decided it was time to move on. He accepted a job at the Art Institute International Minnesota, where he was hired as the president. At the Art Institute, Mr. Stutts facedfinancial difficulties much like he did at the University of Houston. However, he was able to overcome the adversity of his job once again. He improved the fiscal position of the school within 12 months and continued to grown the surplus by double digits annually. |
