Chief Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Alfred Bonati founded The Bonati Institute after intensive research and application of laser technology treatments for lumbar, cervical, and thoracic pain. Upon graduation from Spain’s University of Seville, Dr. Alfred Bonati applied for internships with Suburban Hospital and Franklin Square Hospital, General Surgery section in Maryland, and Cook County General Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Alfred Bonati followed with his residencies at the University of Alabama, Washington Hospital Center, and Georgetown University. For his final residency, Dr. Alfred Bonati completed four years at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University and Moses Cone Hospital, making rounds in general adult orthopedics, clinical and surgical scoliosis management, hand surgery, crippled children’s clinic, and re-implementation surgery. After 1981, Dr. Alfred Bonati founded Gulf Coast Orthopedic Center- Alfred O. Bonati, M.D., P.A.
