Amanda Polk was born in Augusta, Georgia, but most of her childhood was spent in Florida. Amanda attended New York University, majoring in Political Science/International Studies. She has completed a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy, with a concentration on Fundraising, from the George Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising at New York University. She plans on returning for her Certificate in Grantwriting.

Over the last five years, Amanda has been focused on Philanthropy. She has
served on many committees, for many wonderful causes, including: Kids Enjoy Exercise Now, Key to Cure, Nordstom’s Knock Out Abuse Fashion Show, Washington Humane Society (2009 WHS Female Washingtonian of the Year) and Suburban Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine. She has also taken on the responsibility of chairing the Suburban Hospital Gala for the last two years, the KEEN Warm-Up event and is co-chairing the upcoming Key to the Cure.

Currently, Amanda is forming a charitable organization, OnePerson Difference, which helps to create awareness of different causes through small outings and fundraisers with no cost to chosen organization. OnePerson Difference will be fully operational by the end of 2010.

Amanda resides in Potomac with her husband, Curtis, and daughter, Cheyenne. She enjoys traveling, skiing and spending time with her friends and family.
