As Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at Kudelski Group since 1991, Andre Kudelski has steered his company to new heights of success in the areas of digital television, physical access control and audio. Soon after taking over Kudelski Group from his father, audio engineering pioneer Stefan Kudelski, Andre Kudelski steered the primary interests of Kudelski Group toward conditional access television systems. Following these endeavors, Kudelski Group has enjoyed continued expansion into the European conditional access market, along with a successful introduction to North America through a partnership with EchoStar. Andre Kudelski further diversified the offerings of Kudelski +Group, culminating in the creation of Kudelski as a holding company and its IPO launch in 1999. Since 2000, Andre Kudelski has overseen measurable growth and multiple company acquisitions at Kudelski Group, including firms in the digital television and public access sectors.

A 1984 graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Andre Kudelski took his degree in physical engineering and joined the Kudelski Group as an R&D Engineer. Subsequently, he assumed the responsibility of Pay TV Product Manager and Director of Nagravision SA, the pay-TV division of Kudelski Group.     Andre Kudelski earned his Masters of Physical Engineering in 1984 from the prestigious Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL). The University is pursuing an ambitious strategy to offer the ideal conditions for undertaking fundamental research on the frontiers of traditional scientific disciplines. Multi-disciplinary research projects are encouraged either by creating new research institutes or by participating in National Centers of Competence in Research (NCCR) and in international research programs. For instance, EPFL hosts the headquarters of the NCCRs in : Mobile Information and Communication Systems, Quantum Photonics, Chemical Biology, Robotics and the Synaptic Bases of Mental Diseases.

    This innovative spirit coupled with the excellent infrastructure available has attracted leading scientists from around the world to EPFL, and resulted in a spectacular growth of its scientific output: the number of scientific publications was multiplied by 3 during the past 10 years. At the same time, the growth in external financing demonstrates the institutional capacity of EPFL to attract projects on a competitive basis. It’s no accident that between 2007 and 2010 EPFL was awarded the highest number (24 !) of competitive funds from the European Research Council. Andre Kudelski is one of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne’s most renowned Alumnus, taking innovation to depths never before seen in the areas of audio, digital, security and public access programming.

    Andre Kudelski, a name synonymous with leadership, television, digital communications and particularly the Nagra Audio Recorder has served as the Director of the Kudelski Group since January 2007 and the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors since March of 2007. The innovative Engineer, Andre Kudelski was appointed to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kudelski SA ('Kudelski') in 1991, a member of Kudelski's Board of Directors since 1987 and its Chairman of the Board since 1991. In addition to his stellar leadership of the Kudelski Group, Andre Kudelski currently serves as a Director of the Edipresse Group (an international media and communications company), Nestle (a global food and beverage company), HSBC Private Banking Holdings (a global bank) and Dassault Systemes (a provider of product lifecycle management software solutions).

    The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a Geneva-based non-profit foundation best known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, which brings together top business leaders, international political leaders, selected intellectuals and journalists to discuss the most pressing issues facing the world, including health and the environment. Beside meetings, the WEF produces a series of research reports and engages its members in sector specific initiatives. WEF also organizes the “Annual Meeting of the New Champions” in China and a series of regional meetings throughout the year. In 2008 those regional meetings included meetings on Europe and Central Asia, East Asia, the Russia CEO Roundtable, Africa, the Middle East, and the World Economic Forum on Latin America. In 2008 it launched the “Summit on the Global Agenda” in Dubai.
