Andrew Hebenstreit: Founder / CEO of Hebenstreit Communications CompanyThe founder and CEO of Hebenstreit Communications Company (HebCom), Andrew Hebenstreit possesses decades of experience and a rich family tradition in broadcasting. Andrew Hebenstreit began his career in broadcasting while still in high school, working full-time at a radio station during his senior year, and while attending The University of New Mexico. In 1971, Andrew Hebenstreit left the university to pursue his broadcasting career exclusively. While working at his first radio station, Andrew Hebenstreit adopted the pseudonym John Andrews. Serving the New Mexico community for over two decades, Andrew Hebenstreit amassed several awards for his broadcasting skills. The first broadcaster from New Mexico to earn an Emmy Award, Andrew Hebenstreit received the honor three times over the course of his career. Andrew Hebenstreit also earned San Francisco State University’s National Broadcast Media Award and the IRIS Award. With a deep-rooted commitment to the people of New Mexico, Andrew Hebenstreit has participated in numerous community events and contributes to the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. The owner of several radio and television stations over the years, Andrew Hebenstreit used these entities to raise more than $1 million for the New Mexico Lung Association and muscular dystrophy-related charities. In 1992, Andrew Hebenstreit founded Hebenstreit Communications Company (HebCom) after selling his radio and television businesses. Andrew Hebenstreit created HebCom as an advanced information services company that catered to the cellular communications industry. As the founder and CEO, Andrew Hebenstreit personally designed the infrastructure and initial setup of the company, including the eventual establishment of a partnership with the Comcast Corporation in 1994. This enterprise allowed Andrew Hebenstreit to expand the company into seven states and eventually led to Comcast Corporation’s purchase of HebCom in 2001. Andrew Hebenstreit started several businesses over the next eight years, including CYC Express, Inc., which successfully merged with American Distribution Centers in 2007.
