Kerwin

Currently a student at the University of Wisconsin Law School

Naperville, Illinois

Currently studying at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Arthur Kerwin volunteers at the institution’s Unemployment Appeals Clinic, staffed primarily by law students. The Clinic provides representation to individuals without employment in the local community who may not find representation elsewhere, due to the limitations on fees lawyers can charge. Kerwin evaluates post-denial client claims for unemployment benefits and prepares for administrative hearings. Additionally, Arthur Kerwin works as an LSAT tutor, a private venture he began in Illinois and continued when he moved to Wisconsin for law school. In order to obtain clients, Kerwin actively promotes his services within the community. He also maintains responsibility for preparing and implementing lesson plans. Prior to beginning his college education, Arthur Kerwin attended St. Francis High School in an Illinois suburb west of Chicago. As a senior, Kerwin voluntarily tutored children from underprivileged families. He scored in the top one percent on the PSAT and earned recognition as a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the University of Iowa in Iowa City. While there, Arthur Kerwin became actively involved in Delta Upsilon International Fraternity; over the years, he served as Secretary, Executive Board Member, Risk Management Chair, and Inter-Fraternal Council Representative. He earned high marks as a student, making the dean’s list several times before graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. In addition to attending school, Arthur Kerwin held regular part-time jobs, beginning with a position in the produce department at Whole Foods Market, where he maintained responsibility for produce display and distribution. Later, he worked as a server at Flat Top Grill in Naperville, Illinois, where management offered him a promotion to bartender. Kerwin also served at Houlihan’s, where he engaged audiences, juggled multiple priorities, and anticipated problems. Outside of attending college, engaging in community work, and tutoring, Arthur Kerwin enjoys fishing, hunting, flying, and hiking, and he completed a 30-mile day trek through Glacier National Park in Montana.
