Following the attainment of his first Master’s degree, Arthur Schiel joined the financial industry in 1978, initially as a management trainee at Bridgeport Federal Savings Bank. For the next 12 years, Arthur Schiel fulfilled a range of capacities at various financial organizations, holding positions as high as Chief Financial/Investment Officer. In March of 1992, Arthur Schiel opened Avalon Financial Management and has operated the advisory firm ever since. As Sole Proprietor and owner, he supervises every aspect of the company, from client support to research to business development. Additionally, Arthur Schiel carries out the responsibilities of Investment Adviser, a role in which he presents investment options and strategies to small investors and assists them in tending their bonds, stocks, and mutual funds. Avalon Financial Management was built on the idea that individual investors need independent and unprejudiced handling of their investment portfolios. Over the years, the firm has developed into a successful, mid-sized company. Based in Pennsylvania, Avalon Financial Management helps clients who come from many different parts of the country. When not at work, Arthur Schiel can be seen coaching basketball, which he has done for the past four decades. Additionally, he actively participates in charities such as A Front Row Seat to Learning, for which he acts as Director, and The Schiel Family Foundation, which he co-founded. A resident of Wayne, Pennsylvania, Arthur Schiel graduated with honors from Lehigh University in 1970 (Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics, and History) and again in 1980 (Master of Business Administration). In 1974, he completed his Master of Arts in Economic History with a grade point average of 3.9. His hobbies include running, playing golf, and collecting coins.
