The United States Marine Corps’ Special Operations Capable (SOC) Marine Expeditionary Units have a reputation of being at the forefront of the United States’ military elite. Past units have forged a variety of Marine Corps battlefield skills ranging from small boat missions to night mountain climbing. Missions carried out by these tactical teams include dangerous work requiring specialized training and multi-area battlefield expertise.

All Marines in the SOC must maintain physical and mental acuity. They are often called upon to risk their lives in the performance of their duty. SOC units perform important direct action missions in dangerous enemy territory around the world on air, land, and sea.

The training and discipline people receive while serving in the Marine Corps SOC prove invaluable for many of them to their future private-sector success. Whether they will later work as international business leaders or perhaps continue as officers in the Corps, Marines are able to develop characteristics such as confidence, leadership skills, intellect keenness, and courage to meet even the most daring challenges.
