From October 2004 to March 2007, Yale Law School graduate Benjamin Kerschberg served as General Counsel for Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS), an equestrian promotion and management company based in Saugerties, New York. As General Counsel, Mr. Kerschberg directed several litigation initiatives, including the successful defense of an appeal of an antitrust case to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Benjamin Kerschberg’s time as General Counsel saw the sale of a minority share of HITS to Leonard Green Partners of Los Angeles. In his capacity as General Counsel, Benjamin Kerschberg reported directly to HITS founder and CEO Tom Struzzieri, and regularly worked at the ground level during HITS’ eight-week AA-rated hunter/jumper circuits on both coasts.

Benjamin Kerschberg also wrote a monthly column detailing contemporary happenings in the hunter/jumper world for Equine Journal, an equestrian interest publication with a circulation topping 80,000.

Following his time at Horse Shows in the Sun, Benjamin Kerschberg began his position as General Counsel and Real Estate Developer for the mid-Atlantic region of JLB Partners, where he continues to work today. JLB is known for its propensity for creating value for stakeholders by effectively identifying, acquiring, financing, designing, constructing, and managingvarious types of real estate assets. Mr. Kerschberg has served as General Counsel on all transactions and developments in the mid-Atlantic region (i.e. North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia). On the development side, Mr. Kerschberg evaluates new sites, determines the feasibility of certain developments, presents building and development plans to neighborhood groups and governmental authorities, and prepares pro forma financial statements.
