Mr. Franki attended SUNY Buffalo where he received a Bachelor’s degree via the Special Major option, with core studies in Computer / Electrical Engineering, Music, and Media Studies.

After graduating, he traveled to Ann Arbor, MI where he worked at CompuView Products, an entrepreneurial software development company. His responsibilities included developing and maintaining marketing collaterals, display advertising, technical support, and product testing.

From CompuView, he took a job as a floor manager at Arnoldt Williams Music, Inc. (AWM) – one of the largest retail music stores in the State of Michigan. He was responsible for high-end pro audio and electronic keyboard / software sales. In addition to these responsibilities, he worked as an independent contractor in the recording studio industry, was a private technology tutor, and had a public access television show catering to electronic music and recording technologies.

His next position was with Eltekon Technoligies, Inc. – a manufacturer of storage devices targeted to the specific needs of the music industry. His responsibilities included technical documentation, representing the company at trade shows, marketing collaterals, display advertising, technical support, and product testing.

While at AWM and Eltekon, Mr. Franki also started his first company, ACME Digital. During the period of 1987 – 1989, he successfully co-designed and marketed a multipurpose electronic device for Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) control – the MIDIBuddy.

Mr. Franki was recruited in 1990 to return to Rochester to join NF Associates, a Staffing and Technical Writing / Training Development Firm as a Senior Technical Writer. He was promoted to Operations Manager in 1993, and purchased the company in 1996. Under his direction and leadership, NF Associates was twice named to the Rochester Top 100 (1997 and 2001). Mr. Franki sold the company to KENDA Systems, Inc. in 2004 and remains with the firm through a new acquisition by the current owner, SEGULA Technologies, Inc.
