Dedicated to guiding people in the efficient management of their professional lives, human resources expert and author Dr. Bill Howatt contributed his insights for five years in The Chronicle Herald’s column Coach’s Corner. Additionally, he has published over 100 books and articles, among them Change Is Constant—Manage It Proactively; Mediation and Negotiation: A Manager’s Guide; The Human Services Counseling Toolbox: Theory, Development, Technique, and Resources; An Employee’s Survival Guide for the 21st Century; and Engaging Leadership. Dr. Bill Howatt completed his postdoctoral studies in behavioral science at the University of California, Los Angeles Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Dr. Bill Howatt currently acts as CEO and founder of Howatt HR Consulting Inc., a firm that helps business leaders evaluate their company’s overall operations, then develop and implement a lasting model for growth utilizing factors related to staff performance, accountability, and cost efficiency. Dr. Bill Howatt’s innovative TalOp™ program offers an array of diagnostics that help to unify staff members and businesses. Passionate about bringing out the best in people, Dr. Bill Howatt belongs to a variety of organizations that work to improve communications and human resources practices, such as International Coach Federation, the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, and Canadian Guidance and Counseling Association. Dr. Bill Howatt stays active in sports. He played University football for 5 years and coached for 10 at the university level. He also coaches youth hockey and is the author of Golf Psyche and Hockey Psyche, where he speaks on the mental aspects of the games.
