A professional in international trade and public service.Dallas, TexasA prominent business founder and investor, as well as former White House assistant and presidential appointee, Bill McNutt III has made numerous contributions to his community and his country. He has a long history of community action and outreach. In the early 1980s, Bill McNutt III focused on the War on Drugs and educating children to avoid such substances. Through a position on The Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Bill McNutt III earned recognition from General James Robinson “Robbie” Risner, Ross Perot, and the Texans’ War on Drugs association, for demonstrating leadership in working to protect the state’s youth. At this time, Bill McNutt III also began coaching youth soccer and football in the community, serving as a role model for two decades. Bill McNutt III founded Southern Methodist University’s Young Alumni Association, building the organization to 2,500 members in 2 years and earning a gold medal from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education for the best new alumni program in the nation. In the latter half of the decade, Bill McNutt III began turning his service roles to larger institutions with memberships in the National Federation of Independent Business, the Finance and Budget Board of the Dallas Museum of Art, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Board for Food, Agriculture, & Trade. After founding his first company in the 1980s, Bill McNutt III began to develop and create additional businesses in the 1990s. While organizing and leading more than 50 U.S. trade missions around the world, he still made time to serve on the Board of Directors for the International Trade Association of Dallas/Fort Worth. He also began a regular column with DM News while passing along his experience as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of North Texas. Recently, Bill McNutt III focused his efforts on community service as a former member of the Boards for Montgomery Bell Academy and of the Texas Commission on the Arts, to which he was appointed by the governor.
