Brad Dean has led the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce for the last six years. Featured in the Myrtle Beach Sun News upon assuming his role as President and CEO, Brad Dean has brought steady growth and strong unity to the Myrtle Beach business community. Over the years, Brad Dean has increased membership in the chamber by 29%; the organization now boasts 2,700 members representing 45,000 employees. Achievements for Brad Dean during his time with the chamber include securing the most viewed presidential debates in history. During Brad Dean’s tenure, Myrtle Beach has also seen exciting progress on the construction of the I-73 highway, which will connect South Carolina to Michigan and open up a new channel, bringing tourism to the Grand Strand. A former financial analyst, Brad Dean first came to Myrtle Beach at the age of 25. Hand-picked to run the Hard Rock Cafe at Broadway at the Beach, Brad Dean was one of the youngest general managers in the company’s history. Brad Dean began his business career at General Electric, where he was known for increasing productivity and for his keen insight into financial operations of all kinds. At present, Brad Dean makes his home in Murrells Inlet with his wife and two children. Brad Dean is a member of Surfside United Methodist Church and supports organizations ranging from the American Heart Association to Careteam. Brad Dean was raised in Illinois and attended the University of Illinois, where he studied accounting and business.
