Miami, FloridaAs a sports fan and aspiring athlete, a young Brandon Lang, unable to pursue his college basketball aspirations due to a knee injury, went on to become one of the world’s top sports handicappers. In 1987, after spending time in the United States Navy, Brandon Lang found himself in the high-stakes environment of Las Vegas, Nevada, where he discovered his aptitude for successful sports analysis and prediction. Mr. Lang began a brisk rise through the ranks of the handicapping industry, riding a winning streak lasting six years. Realizing the significance of his situation in the context of his field, Brandon Lang took an extended hiatus from sports handicapping in order to have his life story made into a film. Moving to the center of the movie industry in Los Angeles, California, Mr. Lang spent a number of years networking and talking to industry notables such as Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise before meeting Hollywood screenwriter Dan Gilroy, who became instrumental to the project. Through hard work and perseverance, Mr. Lang achieved his goal; in 2005, Universal Pictures released Two for the Money, a $20-million major motion picture recounting the life of Brandon Lang, played by actor Matthew McConaughey. Two for the Money also stars Hollywood veterans Al Pacino and Rene Russo. The film dramatizes his rise in the arena of sports gambling. Upon completing the film, Brandon Lang returned in full force to sports handicapping, starting his own website, BrandonLang.com, where customers can tap into his success by gaining access to the insightful predictions and plays that earned him his reputation. Despite the glamour and allure of Hollywood movie-making as well as regular appearances on television and radio, Mr. Lang remains fully committed to his true passion in the world of sports. |
