Brendan Maclean is Sydney based artist and national radio announcer.

After graduating from Kirrawee High Public School in 2005, awarded for his Choreography and Dramatic works, Brendan began a BA at UNSW.

After seeking talent management he deferred from his degree to focus on practical studies and performance. Then, whilst employed as a stilt-walker, clown, drama & dance teacher, he recorded his first original song in 2006.

In 2007 Brendan won Australia’s National Youth Week (NYW) People’s Choice Award for Music with his song “Airport People”. This was followed by state & nation wide radio coverage and being featured by the internationally recognized ReachOut.com.au. He then went on to win NYW’s Industry Award for Writing with his short story “A Quiet Case” in 2008.

Nationally broadcast radio-station Triple J interviewed Brendan early 2007, celebrating the unsigned artist competition: Unearthed. Brendan’s online reviewing skills (under pseudonym “Murdoch”) was awarded with an invitation to present five tracks with Morning Show host Zan Rowe. After a positive response he was then taken aboard as a casual presenter. He has been publish in J-Mag, Triple J’s official magazine, and acted as Producer for individual segments.

Brendan holds a Certificate 2 in Auslan (Australian Sign-Language) which he looks to continue with college studies in 2009. He is now completing his first studio EP, which began recoding July 2008.
