Youth Soccer Coach for YMCA

The great inventor Benjamin Franklin once said, “Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that’s the stuff life is made of.” Brent Beckley is one person who is definitely not squandering his time, and has spent countless hours tending to the needs of others.

Having attended a weeklong leadership program, Beckley learned various ways to help undergrads and fraternity members attending the University of Montana improve their college experience.

At the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity YMCA Volunteer Live It! Leadership Program in Denver, Beckley participated in strategic planning workshops, goal-setting programs, workshops about improving communication skills, and learned how to create mission statements.

Later, Beckley took part in another weeklong program: the 65th Annual International Leadership School. This event brought Brent Beckley to University of Illinois at Chicago.
For nearly one year, Beckley spent his weekends at the Salvation Army Food Kitchen in Vancouver, British Colombia, where he was a volunteer.

Beckley spent another week of his time at the 65th Annual International Leadership School, and this time the event took place at University of Illinois in Chicago.
Before his time at the Salvation Army Food Kitchen, Beckley was a volunteer Youth Soccer Coach for the YMCA. Beckley communicated with the youngsters and their parents to ensure that the kids learned from their experiences. He coached the second-grade boys’ teams and fifth-grade girls’ teams.

Brent attended the University of Montana, located in the city of Missoula, and focused his studies on financial management. Beckley earned his B.A. in 2002.

Brent D. Beckley currently resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and in his spare time, he likes to cook, read, camp, hunt, go fishing, spend time with his family and friends, and play golf.
