CEO of Concerned Capital, started a career in economic development as a VISTA volunteer in President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty in the late 1960’s. He spent 15 years in Washington D.C. working with federal incentive programs ranging from CETA to FHA mortgage guarantees to Small Business Investment Company venture capital funding. He has a securities license, and a MBA in finance. His combination of private sector financing skills and public sector knowledge make him uniquely suited to head up a public/private initiative such as Concerned Capital. He received his charter from Community Partners in 2001. Prior to this he worked with the Gateway Cities Partnership in Southeastern Los Angeles County and served as the Chief Credit Officer for LA’s largest small businesses revolving loan program (at the Valley Economic Development Center) and was the first Executive Director of the Los Angeles Harbor-Watts Economic Development Corporation. For the past six months, Mr. Dobb has provided consulting services to LA’s largest apparel manufacturing company in the Federally designated Empowerment Zone assisting them with raising $ 7 million in private equity and adopting and implementing corporate socially responsible practices
