Based in Texas, Dr. Bruce Scaff has volunteered his time and resources to a variety of causes aimed at improving the health of his community. In May 2009, the 81st Texas Legislature recognized Dr. Bruce Scaff as Physician of the Day. By participating in the program, sponsored by the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Bruce Scaff promoted the strength of Texas’ health care system and the foundation of family practice, providing services to state legislators, their staff, and families, as well as visitors to the State Capitol. With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Bruce Scaff maintains membership in the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Directors Association. Currently serving as an emergency room physician at many hospitals throughout Texas, Dr. Bruce Scaff seeks out opportunities to continue volunteering for organizations that he supports. A strong believer in the benefits of hospice care, Dr. Bruce Scaff looks for ways to assist terminally ill patients to remain as comfortable as possible. An active member of the medical community, Dr. Bruce Scaff has maintained involvement with the Heart of Texas Regional Advisory Council, an organization dedicated to providing infrastructure ideas, improvements, and leadership for medical services within a five-county trauma service area. Representing Goodall-Witcher Healthcare Foundation as an Acute Care Facility, Dr. Bruce Scaff has completed Annual Regional Needs Assessments to turn over to the Advisory Council. In addition, Dr. Bruce Scaff has participated on committees aimed at achieving rapid response, improved communication, and an adequate number of first responders in order to provide superior emergency medical care. Serving the Goodall-Witcher Healthcare Foundation for much of his career, Dr. Bruce Scaff has filled a variety of responsibilities in many facilities, including the Clifton Clinic Family Practice. While at the Clifton Clinic, Dr. Bruce Scaff worked primarily in pediatrics and obstetrics, delivering more than 1,500 babies and attending to birthing complications as a primary surgeon. In his position with Goodall-Witcher Healthcare Foundation, Dr. Bruce Scaff has also served as Medical Director for nursing and rehab programs, including Clifton Nursing and Rehabilitation and Meridian Manor Nursing Home.
