Specht

COO, Dig Communications

Chicago, Illinois

Throughout his career, Bryan Specht has expended a great deal of energy toward raising awareness of child abuse and parental education on proper child care and development. Committed to philanthropy, he founded two charitable groups to help him achieve his goals. His first initiative, the Awful Grace Project, tries to unite survivors of child abuse by sharing stories about how they overcame the cycle of abuse and thrived in society. Through this community, Bryan Specht hopes to transform the way people think about child neglect and affect public policy to develop a better world for all. Interested parties can find the Awful Grace Project online at www.awfulgrace.org, along with links to child abuse prevention organizations, YouTube videos explaining the project’s mission, and updates on legislative initiatives throughout the country. In 2006, Bryan Specht created The Promised Land Society, Inc., a private child wellness and advocacy organization, and he serves as the Chairman of the Board. As stated by Bryan Specht, a former political strategist currently working in the private sector, the goal of The Promised Land Society, Inc. is to increase recognition that America’s prosperity depends on children receiving the proper care and treatment right from birth. To this end, he concentrates on improving the mental health and overall well-being of children while educating adults about child abuse and providing the necessary tools for kids to reach their full potential. Many organizations have recognized Bryan Specht for his efforts toward ending child abuse. A former member of the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center Board of Directors, he currently sits on the National Board of Directors for Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) America. In 2009, the Illinois Abuse Prevention Conference selected him as its keynote speaker. The previous year, he spoke on PCA America’s keynote panel at its 2008 national conference. His speech was part of a plenary session titled, 2020: The future of prevention. Additionally, in 2007, Bryan Specht discussed domestic violence at a conference held by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.
