Caree Harper took a case in 2004 in which she fought for a man who had endured excessive force from law enforcement officers. On the day of the trial, she secured a six-figure settlement for her client, who stated he had been beaten by members of the Inglewood Police Department. In 2007, Ms. Harper and co-counsel won more than $500,000 in a federal jury trial against the California Highway Patrol for violating her client’s constitutional rights during an arrest. Ms. Harper is currently working on a high-profile case in Riverside, where the officer who shot her client is now serving a 15-year sentence for armed robbery.

Attorney Caree Harper attained recognition for her superior work from Congressman Adam Schiff, who presented her with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from the United States House of Representatives in 2005. For her dedication to pro bono attorney work, Caree Annette Harper was given the Shirley Fields Volunteer award.

Caree Annette Harper received her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Saint Mary’s College of California and attended the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, where she earned her Juris Doctor. After passing the California Bar Examination, she joined several professional organizations, including the John M. Langston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association, and the State Bar of California’s Criminal Law Section.
