Serving in two federal elections, political organizer Carl Segerblom played a prominent role as a field organizer within the greater Las Vegas area. Most recently, Carl Segerblom served as the Surrogate Scheduler in the political department of Friends for Harry Reid, the reelection committee for the United States Senate Majority Leader. Facing serious opposition from a resurgent Republican Party specifically targeting his Senate seat and the heavily organized Tea Party movement seeking a complete change in government, Senator Reid fought and won re-election in November 2010. The Democratic Party retained a majority in the Senate despite massive losses in the House of Representatives. As Surrogate Scheduler, Carl Segerblom regularly spoke on behalf of Senator Reid to special interest groups, and he organized events and rallies with out-of-town speakers including President Barack Obama. Prior to Senator Reid’s reelection campaign, Carl Segerblom served as a legal extern at the Democratic Policy Committee. In this role, he assisted in the draft of proposed legislation as well as organized a hearing on defense contractor abuses in Iraq. Carl Segerblom also worked extensively in the 2008 general election, first as a field organizer for the John Edwards presidential campaign, and then as a field organizer for the Power2Change campaign for the Sierra Club in Nevada. Based in Las Vegas, Carl Segerblom currently splits his time between his hometown and studying for a law degree at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in Tempe.
