A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, Carl Shusterman received his Juris Doctor in 1973. Not long after his graduation, Carl Shusterman began working for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) as a Trial Attorney. Mr. Shusterman held this position for six years, then left to open his own practice, the Law Offices of Carl Shusterman. The firm now has 7 attorneys who possess a total of more than 100 years of cumulative experience in the field of immigration law.

Authorized to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits, the Federal District Court, and the United States Supreme Court, Carl Shusterman is also a State Bar of California Board Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law. Additionally, he holds membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, where he served as a member of AILA’s Board of Governors.

Recognized nationally for his expertise in the field of immigration law, Carl Shusterman has appeared on a number of broadcast news programs to offer expert opinions on immigration-related matters. He has also authored a number of articles that have been printed in popular publications such as the The Los Angeles Times, The Christian Science Monitor and The Wall Street Journal, as well as trade and scholarly periodicals such as the National Law Journal and the Journal of the American Medical Association. He has been recognized for his skill by a number of organizations, and his firm has been named one of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Law Firms.
