About Charlene Kushler

Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University in 1991. In addition, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Social Work. Showing great dedication to her education, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler maintained a position in the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi National Honors Society throughout her academic career. While studying at Michigan State University, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler taught both graduate and undergraduate level classes, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, psychopathology, object relations theory, family systems theory, and personality development. In the last years of studying for her doctorate, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler additionally served as the Supervisor of Livingston County Child and Family Services Department. Overseeing the department’s clinicians, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler provided guidance relating to therapy, diagnosis, and assessment in abuse, neglect, custody, and adoption cases. Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler continued her work as a Supervisor until the end of 1993.

Since 1983, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler has provided services through the ACS Assessment and Treatment Center, a private practice based out of Williamston, Michigan. Shortly after earning her Ph.D., Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler also started working out of a second office in Brighton, Michigan. Through the ACS Assessment and Treatment Center, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler provides psychological evaluations, diagnostic assessments, testing, and therapy to adults, children, couples, and families. During this time, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler has also served as an Employee Selection Consultant for the Department of Corrections and a Parenting Time Coordinator for the Livingston County Circuit Court. Working with Judge Daniel Burress of the Livingston County Circuit Court, local attorneys, and the Friend of the Court staff, Dr. Charlene Crickon Kushler helped engineer an awareness program for parents involved in divorce proceedings. This program was designed to educate parents on how divorce affects children. This program has been implemented in the Livingston Count Court system since 1993.
