Mr. Chi Tschang received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Yale College.

Mr. Chi Tschang is the Founder and former Principal of college-preparatory public school, KIPP Academy Fresno (KAF). Under Mr. Tschang’s leadership, KAF was named a California Title I Distinguished School, 1 of only 2 middle schools in Fresno County (out of 60 total middle schools) to receive such a distinction. After four years under Mr. Tschang’s leadership, KAF’s 2008 graduating class of 8th graders had improved eight grade levels in math and seven grade levels in reading. Parents overwhelmingly approved of Mr. Tschang’s work at KAF; 98 percent of respondents from a 2008-2009 parent survey indicated that they were “satisfied” or “highly satisfied” with the overall quality of education at KAF. Mr. Tschang graduated cum laude from Yale College, having earned the President’s Public Service Fellowship, the John Schroeder Award, the Dwight Waterman Prize, the New Haven Community Foundation’s Elm/Ivy Award and the Fenmore R. Seton Award.
