Chris 's Status UpdatesTalented chef Chris Bruno utilizes his culinary expertise to operate Chris’s American Restaurant in Brookfield, Connecticut. Known previously as Fiddler’s, Chris’s American Restaurant serves progressive American fare such as baby clams with sake and Wasabi, farfalle with wild mushrooms, and yellowfin tuna wrapped in tortillas. Chris Bruno purchased Fiddler’s in 1990 at the age of 24 and continued to operate it for the next 20 years, changing the name to Chris’s American Restaurant in 2003. Chris Bruno expanded the parking lot and renovated the venue, maintaining a competitive edge for Chris’s American Restaurant. In addition to updating the menu and expanding the property, Chris Bruno implemented energy-efficient technologies throughout Chris’s American Restaurant, demonstrating his commitment to conservation as part of a Brookfield Goes Green block party. While operating and cooking for Chris’s American Restaurant, Chris Bruno also served on the board of Family & Children’s Aid, Inc., a nonprofit agency that offers services for children with developmental disabilities and other needs. During his time on the board of Family & Children’s Aid, Inc. from 1999 to 2006, Chris Bruno served as President and Vice President. Chris Bruno became an integral part of the group’s expansion, enabling it to serve more than 3,000 children every year with residential and outpatient services. Chris’s American Restaurant supported Family & Children’s Aid, Inc. with donations of food and money. Chris Bruno was re-elected to the Family & Children’s Aid, Inc. board again in 2010. |
