Strategic Planning, Business Development, Communications Extraordinaire

32, New York, New York

I am a professional and writer based in New York City. My diverse background includes journalism, public relations and marketing, and I currently hold dual positions as Business Development Manager at a construction management firm and Outreach Liaison at a business-oriented nonprofit organization. I have a Masters degree in International Business from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Sweet Briar College, recently recognized by Forbes as one of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges. Furthermore, I possess a strong work ethic, am deeply involved in my community and am an active volunteer for various organizations, and am deeply interested in current events and shaping public policy.

I have conducted business in or travelled to foreign countries to study management and business strategy in the following countries: China, Anguilla (British West Indies), Russia, and Finland.

As an athlete I am passionate about fitness, and well-being shapes how I live. Until entering college, I was a highly competitive synchronized swimmer, holding several national medals. I began playing water polo at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, where as part of our women’s team, won gold for Scottish Universities League and silver at the Scottish Cup. I currently play co-ed waterpolo for Team New York Aquatics (TNYA) in New York City.

I believe every person whom is priviledged enough to have the resources should be passionate about something considered unjust or underrepresented, and strive to change it. I therefore dedicate my time to a number of causes, including volunteering for the United States Humane Society’s “Safety Net” program, which offers guidance and low cost solutions for people who consider surrendering a pet due to financial hardship. I also serve on the Advisory Council of the Creative Writing Department at Sweet Briar College, and as Sweet Briar Alumnae Club of New York Vice President and Student-Alumnae Liaison. I also volunteer for the League of Humane voters of New York City, and have dedicated time to political candidates whom I would like to see elected to office. I advocate for several animal welfare organizations, including my favorite cause, the ASPCA.
