As the Kaiser Permanente CIO, Cliff Dodd was initially responsible for the information technology organization (KP IT), and due to his leadership was granted the expanded oversight of the Kaiser Permanente administrative operations, cumulatively comprised of about 8,000 clerical and technical employees under a two billion dollar operating budget. Cliff Dodd, Kaiser CIO, developed and syndicated a single national systems strategy that enabled Kaiser to shrink, thrive and simplify its KP IT systems portfolio from over 1,700 systems to less than 100. Much of this can be attributed to Cliff Dodd’s CIO leadership regarding the establishment of IT governance and the initiation of Kaiser’s HealthConnect initiative.

Mr. Cliff Dodd proved instrumental in numerous moments of corporate transition and transformation throughout his career. As Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Qwest Communications International in Denver, Colorado, Mr. J. Cliff Dodd, CIO, led the integration of disparate IT systems across Qwest and its acquisition of US West during a period of transformation within Qwest’s history. Through Cliff Dodd’s leadership, Qwest Communications International was able to unify its IT systems with those of US West, facilitating a seamless acquisition with a fully integrated billing operation.
