Clive Spiegler boasts a career that spans 18 years in the research, development, and marketing of pharmaceuticals that treat conditions afflicting millions worldwide. As Senior Director for New Product Planning at the British branch of Brussels-based pharmaceutical giant UCB, S.A., Clive Spiegler oversees the life-cycle strategy and marketing for early-phase immunology pipeline products, including evaluating in-licensing opportunities. The company’s research efforts focus on the development of treatments for severe immunological and central nervous system disorders.

Clive Spiegler is a core member of UCB Celltech’s Immunology Therapeutic Area Strategy Team and was integral to the development of the life-cycle strategic plan for the company’s new anti-IL6 antibody. Clive Spiegler has earned degrees from respected institutions in England, France, and Switzerland, including his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Zurich.

Since that time, Clive Spiegler has shared in a number of patents in the U.S. and Europe, and played an instrumental role in the development and management of a number of programs for major pharmaceutical companies including F. Hoffman-La Roche, Ltd., Abbott Laboratories, Knoll Pharmaceutical Company, and UCB Celltech.

Projects that Clive Spiegler has taken on include such groundbreaking products as Invirase and Fortovase, Humira, and most recently Cimzia, UCB’s latest treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and related inflammatory immunological disorders, such as Crohn’s disease. In addition to his work at UCB Celltech, Clive Spiegler is a competitive marathon runner and enjoys cooking a wide variety of cuisines for friends and family.
