Bonita Dental Care
Overview
Bonita Dental Care of southwestern Florida is a pioneer in the laser-assisted new attachment procedure (LANAP) for the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease. The procedure provides patients of Bonita Dental Care with an alternative to traditional periodontal treatments, which can be very painful and lead to drastic gum recession.
Dr. Fred Eck, head dentist and owner of Bonita Dental Care, oversees the use of LANAP. Dr. Eck first probes the patient’s gum areas to determine where the disease is present, then uses the laser to heat and kill bacteria while eliminating infected tissue. Patients at Bonita Dental Care who choose LANAP experience fewer complications than traditional methods, with lower incidences of reoccurring or secondary infections.
Dr. Fred Eck of Bonita Dental Care earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He holds license with the Florida Department of Health Board of Dentistry and has a Controlled Substance License with the Board of Pharmacy. He also completed a nine-month dental implant course of study at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Bonita Dental Care’s sister practices provide residents of Naples and Fort Myers with various tooth replacement implant procedures. Using the latest lightweight titanium posts, Dr. Fred Eck and his staff anchor these posts into the patient’s gum to provide a permanent base for the new tooth. In combination with perfectly matched porcelain teeth, the dental implant procedures give patients a natural-looking and permanent solution. Many patients utilize sedation during the procedure, ensuring their optimal comfort and safety. Bonita Dental Care also uses sedation dentistry to help patients who experience anxiety. Another benefit of sedation is that it allows Dr. Eck and his staff to complete multiple procedures without interruption, saving the patient time and avoiding the added stress of multiple visits.
