Boyd Bros. Transportation, Inc., was founded by Dempsey Boyd and his brothers in 1956. The company has more than a half century of experience in flatbed trucking throughout the eastern two-thirds of the United States as well as parts of Canada and Mexico. Boyd Bros. Transportation hauls construction supplies, steel, iron, roofing materials, and other building commodities. Boyd Bros. specializes in time-sensitive delivery of much-needed materials. The company’s goal of safe and legal operation as well as its high standards in training, communication, and service put Boyd Bros. at the forefront of the trucking industry, and the firm has won many awards over the years based on its distinguished performance in these areas. Boyd Bros. has received the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Award, various accolades from the Alabama Trucking Association, and honors for safety from the American Trucking Association’s Safety Management Council. In 2009, Boyd Bros. was selected for Truckload Carriers Association, Inc.’s Best Fleet to Drive For Award. Many of the awards cite mileage, honoring the company for accumulating millions of safe hauling miles on an annual basis. Additionally, Boyd Bros. has received awards for its contributions to the National Guard and Reserve, and the company has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a supporter of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.
