Career Care Institute, a medical
vocational school with three locations in California, offers four tracks for
students: vocational nurse, X-ray technician, medical assistant, and dental
assistant.
The vocational nursing program prepares
students for the evolving healthcare field, with lectures that cover the basics
of anatomy, physiology, patient care, and infection control. Career Care
Institute students are given real-life experience to prepare for their future
careers. Career Care Institute’s coursework prepares students for the National
Council Licensure Examination, which is a certification of the best practices
set forth by the Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians.
Career Care Institute’s X-ray
technician program trains students to prepare radiographs so that doctors can
analyze patients’ conditions. The classes prepare students for the California
State Examination, and Career Care Institute students also receive training in
electrocardiograms, injections, vitals, and more. This particular track is
popular at Career Care Institute, as it is in high demand and offers lucrative
employment opportunities. Some of the applications of this certification
include positions at imaging centers, physician and orthopedic offices, and
urgent care facilities.
The medical assistant program at Career Care
Institute educates students on clinical and administrative procedures,
including front office duties and terminology. This career track will enable
Career Care Institute students to work on routine lab work, clinical procedures
in the back office, and examinations. The program combines theory and clinical
education and also features a 160-hour externship to expose students to
real-life situations. Career Care Institute’s dental assistant program provides
students with technique and procedure training in a modern dental office. These
skills include dental polishing, anesthetic assistance, office work, and dental
X-rays. Through its coursework, Career Care Institute also instructs students
in bedside manner and hygiene education.
