ESR Stat Plus
Overview
HemaTechnologies
manufactures the ESR Stat Plus™ erythrocyte sedimentation rate analyzer
for use in hospitals and clinics. A direct-read analyzer, the ESR Stat
Plus uses a much smaller blood sample than the traditional Westergren
method, requiring only a 25-microliter capillary tube filled with EDTA
blood. This small sample size makes the ESR Stat Plus an excellent
choice for children’s hospitals and pediatric clinics, where sample
volume is an issue. HemaTechnologies’ EZ-SAFE heparinized self-sealing
analysis tubes are Mylar-wrapped for safety and significantly reduce
biohazard waste.
Simple to use, the ESR Stat Plus provides fast results.
The user simply places the analysis tube inside the analyzer and in 5
minutes the sed rate result is available. The ESR Stat Plus displays the
results on-screen, matched to the patient ID. An optional thermal
printer is available for producing hard copy results and a bar code
reader is available to speed processing and reduce patient
identification errors. HemaTechnologies’ ESR Stat Plus is a
second-generation sed rate analyzer and offers proven accuracy with a
correlation of 0.96 or better when compared with the standard 1-hour
Westergren method.
The direct-read feature of the ESR Stat Plus
virtually eliminates sampling errors and the 5-minute processing speed
improves lab turn-around time, making the ESR Stat Plus ideal for busy
