Evergreen Psychotherapy Center
Overview
As co-directors of the Evergreen Psychotherapy Center, Michael Orlans, M.A., D.A.P.A., and Terry Levy, Ph.D., B.C.F.E., have a reputation as pioneers in the field of attachment therapy. Their work has earned both of them the title of Master Therapist, the highest honor granted by the American Psychotherapy Association. Based in Evergreen, Colorado, the Evergreen Psychotherapy Center adheres to standards required by the Association for Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children. No other agency in the state possesses this designation.
The Evergreen Psychotherapy Center provides corrective attachment therapy and corrective attachment parenting. Although the effects of dysfunctional attachment in a person’s early years may linger for years, the Evergreen Psychotherapy Center achieves significant results after just two weeks of intensive treatment. During the two-week treatment period, the Evergreen Psychotherapy Center will address the child, the parent-child relationship, the parents, parenting skills, and family issues. The center’s format has been utilized by attachment therapy programs in countries around the globe.
Clients coming to the Evergreen Psychotherapy Center work directly with the master therapists. The center works exclusively with one family or individual at a time. In terms of approach, the Evergreen Psychotherapy Center favors enhancing healthy behaviors as opposed to focusing on pathology. Though intense, the therapeutic program offers a gentle connection between therapist and client. After years of practice, Orlans and Levy believe this yields much better and more enduring results.
According to the Evergreen Psychotherapy Center, many symptoms exhibited by people in our times result from attachment problems at the core of an individual’s personality. The symptoms may take the form of ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, and other behavioral issues. Once a person resolves the issue at the core, other problems tend to react to treatment more readily.
