Galeos
Overview
Since its establishment in Newport Beach, California, in 1996, Galeos Café has become a staple within the Southern Californian beach town. Galeos Cafe specializes in international cuisine served amidst a European-styled ambiance. Galeos strives to exhibit the passion and creativity of its founding chefs, Andrei Leontieff and Gordana Samardzic. With European traditions of cooking instilled early in their childhood, the chefs aim to share their talents with the Newport Beach community.
As the popularity of Galeos Café grew, so did the chefs’ comfort in fashioning imaginative dishes. In 1997, their creativity led to the conception of a miso salad dressing. Miso, of Asian origins, is produced from fermenting soybeans that have been grinded down. The thick paste that remains after this process is a highly nutritious food and can be combined with numerous ingredients to balance the naturally salty flavor of miso. The chefs at Galeos utilize all-natural ingredients to construct salad dressings that continue to draw rave reviews from customers.
The chefs established Galeos Miso Dressings to fulfill the demand of consumers eager to use the sauces at home. The appeal of their original dressing also propelled the chefs to create numerous flavors. Galeos Miso Dressings currently offers Southwest Dressings/Marinade and Dip (recently released), Sesame Seeds Dressings/Marinade and Dip, Ginger & Wasabi Dressings/Marinade and Dip, Caesar Dressings/Marinade and Dip, and Dijonnaise Dressings/Marinade and Dip. Galeos chefs Andrei and Gordana are still in charge of the preparation of the sauces and also oversee the bottling process, which is done in Galeos’ custom-designed building in Costa Mesa, California. Their supervision ensures ample attention to quality standards.
Since its beginnings, Galeos Miso Dressings has garnered a multitude of awards and generous praise, including Best National Salad Dressing in 2001 and 2002 from Food Distribution Magazine. The company also earned the support of weight loss entities Weight Watchers International, Inc., and the national television show The Biggest Loser.
