Global
Community Communications Alliance is a New Millennium Church located in
Arizona, and supports an Eco-village of Spiritual Order Member residence who
practice sustainability through service to others. Their desire to steward and
protect the land, build upon their spiritual disciplines, and share a sense of
community involvement is practiced at Avalon Organic Gardens.
Members
and volunteers of Global Community Communications Alliance work in these
gardens as part of their spiritual disciplines, and over 200 others have become
members of the Community Supported Agricultural movement as well. The members
of the community along with various groups and alliances work to provide
healthy produce that is free of contaminants, pesticides and preservatives.
Shares of the seasons harvest are thus divided between the church and the
communities. These gardens provide enough food and resources to help the church
and local residents become less dependent on outside resources.
Global
Community Communications Alliance provides daily workshops at Avalon Organic
Gardens and Eco-village where participants can learn gardening, farming and
ranching skills as well as alternative building and culture-development
practices. These skills are imperative to growing fresh produce through home
and community gardens, building sustainable model communities and play a vital
role in bringing families, neighborhoods and communities together to live more
harmoniously with each other and the environment.
The
produce from the Avalon Organic Gardens, Farm and Ranch are beyond organic in
practice and all of the vegetables are grown without chemical or synthesized
fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides.
It
is a goal of Global Community Communications Alliance to practice living in
ways that benefits the body as well as the environment.
