Over
the past three decades, Hank Lane Music and Productions has cemented its place
as one of the most successful and well-respected live music providers in the
New York City metropolitan area. Recently, Hank Lane Music provided bands for
the opening night galas of the American Ballet Theatre, the New York
Philharmonic, the New York City Ballet, and The Royal Ballet in Washington, DC.
Corporate clients include the Coca-Cola Company, Ford Motor Company, The New
York Times Company, Random House, Inc., Victoria’s Secret, Vogue magazine,
Daimler Chrysler, and many others. Hank Lane Music started as a wedding band
provider, and weddings still constitute a substantial part of its business.
Recently both WeddingWire.com and The Knot, Inc. again named Hank Lane Music a
best pick for weddings in 2011. The dozens of live bands that work with Hank
Lane Music perform at hundreds of weddings each year, and demand only continues
to grow for their fun, crowd-pleasing, eclectic musical styles. Since 2009,
Hank Lane Music has operated out of Hicksville, New York, where the company has
a band rehearsal studio and space to run its DJ, lighting design, and event
production services. The need to expand came as Hank Lane Music gained
recognition for its music and began to explore other areas of private
entertainment production as well. Founded in Queens, New York in 1978 by bandleader
Hank Lane as well as other prominent area musicians, Hank Lane Music quickly
grew in popularity and by the end of the 1980s had opened an office in
Manhattan to service the growing number of high-profile weddings and events
they were asked to play in the city. Today, Hank Lane Music bands have
performed at a number of top hotels in New York City and are increasingly asked
to perform across the United States and in Canada and Europe.
