Hank's Fine Furniture
Overview
An environmentally friendly business, Hank’s Fine Furniture recently won the Green Development Award from the City of Rogers for its energy-saving design and implementation of the new Hank’s & More Fine Furniture Super Store in Rogers. The facility features advanced technology in utilities, cool-roof systems, water-conserving irrigation, and parking lot construction as well as carpet that exceeds environmental standards. In addition, the entrance fountain runs on recycled water. At its Distribution Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, Hank’s Fine Furniture operates a foam machine that melts down Styrofoam into ingots, so that manufacturers can turn it into packing material. A compactor at the center reduces cardboard and plastics for recycling.
Hank Browne began his career in the home furnishings business right out of college, selling Whirlpool appliances. He opened his first furniture store in 1975. Today, Hank’s Fine Furniture, based in Sherwood, Arkansas, includes 14 stores that have won multiple people’s choice awards and a legion of loyal customers. Located in five states, the massive showrooms provide one-year warranties against manufacturers’ defects, several financing options, and delivery and setup for a reasonable fee. Hank’s Fine Furniture also offers a “Double the Difference” payment if a customer finds a verified identical item locally for less within 30 days of purchase.
Hank’s Fine Furniture’s newest and most recently renovated stores include exclusive galleries with collections from top designers and manufacturers, such as Bernhardt, Kincaid, Thomasville, Hooker, Henredon, and Lexington. The Paula Deen Home Collection features comfortable and homey bedroom, dining, and living room pieces. The expanded facilities, called Hank’s & More Fine Furniture, benefit as the other showrooms do from the merchandisers’ trips to the markets to find the latest styles, colors, and trends.
Sharing its success, Hank’s Fine Furniture and its sister company, Home Place Furniture of Pensacola, Florida, annually donate a portion of their profits for a month to local hospitals in the Children’s Miracle Network. To date, Hank’s Fine Furniture has provided funding of more than $600,000 to such medical facilities as the University of South Alabama Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Mobile and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.
