Jennie Stuart Medical Center
Overview
Established
in 1914, Jennie Stuart Medical Center provides excellent health care to the
community of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Jennie Stuart Medical Center’s inception
was made possible by the donated savings of Jennie Vaughn Stuart, the wife of a
local physician. Jennie Stuart passed away from a hip fracture that could not
be properly treated given the medical facilities available at the time. Seeking
to remedy the lack of amenities, Jennie Stuart’s husband created Jennie Stuart
Medical Center.
Today,
Jennie Stuart Medical Center supplies a wide range of excellent diagnosis and
care options. The E.C. Green Cancer Center, the Sleep Disorders Center, and a
broad selection of educational programs are just a few of the many services
Jennie Stuart Medical Center offers. Jennie Stuart Medical Center also contains
a first-rate Same Day Surgery Unit for diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Surgeries are carried out with excellent post-operative care with the goal of
the patient being discharged the same day. Additionally, Jennie Stuart Medical
Center offers its Convenient CareClinic, located in the Medical Mall in the
Alexander Courtyard.
The
Convenient CareClinic offers some of the services found at Jennie Stuart
Medical Center to outpatients, particularly those who require attention for
afflictions such as fractures, minor burns, influenza, strep throat,
conjunctivitis, and cuts. Although the Jennie Stuart Medical Center Convenient
CareClinic is not intended to replace care from a patient’s primary physician,
it offers initial treatment and will refer a patient to his or her doctor for
follow-up care if needed.
