John Miller launched Sooner Copy
Machines, Inc., more than a decade ago. Now carrying a wide variety of copiers,
the firm provides Oklahoma businesses with the best equipment for copying,
scanning, faxing, and printing. Offering brand names such as Toshiba, KIP, and
Sharp, Sooner Copy Machines sells both color and black-and-white copiers
customized to serve clients’ individual needs. John Miller owns a total of three
copier dealerships that service Oklahoma through six locations in Norman, Enid,
Chickasha, Oklahoma City, Stillwater, and Lawton. Mr. Miller leads 40 employees
and an award-winning sales team. His company has won six consecutive sales
awards from Sharp for selling more than $1 million in Sharp equipment annually.
The company believes this is a precedent-setting achievement in Oklahoma.
When he started his own company,
John Miller had a wide variety of experiences to draw from. While still in high
school, he started working for his father’s office equipment business. He began
by chemically cleaning liquid copier toner and dispersant tanks and earned
regular promotions. Once he received his driver’s license, John Miller was able
to join the company’s delivery team, bringing toner, dispersant, and copy paper
to clients throughout Oklahoma. He took a break from the company in order to
study business at the University of Oklahoma.
After he completed his education, John Miller
returned to the office equipment dealership as a data entry assistant and
earned a promotion to outside sales representative with his own territory. He
went on to set company records by establishing a significant number of new
accounts. As a result of his success, the company asked him to launch new
copier dealerships in the towns of Ada and Ardmore, and he soon dominated the
market. After ten years with his father’s business, John Miller established
Sooner Copy Machines in Norman, Oklahoma. Over the past 11 years, he has
watched his start-up blossom into one of the largest copier dealerships in the
state.
