Linda Jamieson School of Dance
Overview
A respected institution of dance education located in Kanata, Ontario, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance has trained young dancers of all levels for more than 30 years. Today, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance provides instruction in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, and Contemporary dance to students from the ages of 3 to 19.
Courses offered by the Linda Jamieson School of Dance includes recreational as well as pre-professional programs, which range from the Creative Movement class for preschool students, examination preparation for interested students, and professional training for those pursuing a career in dance. In addition to its classes, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance also affords students opportunities to perform in recitals, professional productions such as The Nutcracker, Giselle, Coppelia, and Swan Lake, as well as opportunities to compete at events such as the American Dance Awards Regional and National Championships and the Youth America Grand Prix International Ballet Competition.
The faculty at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance is composed of highly qualified and accomplished professionals and headed by Director and Choreographer Linda Jamieson, a former professional dancer and International Dance Champion who has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and English, a Bachelor’s Degree in Theological Studies, Ontario Secondary School Teaching Certification, as well as the Teachers’ Certificate from the Royal Academy of Dance, London, England. The Linda Jamieson School of Dance also offers workshops with illustrious guest artists, including prima ballerinas, Broadway dancers, choreographers, and principal dancers from the world’s finest companies, such as the Paris Opera Ballet Company, American Ballet Theatre, The National Ballet of Canada, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company.
