Maria Montessori School of the Golden Gate
Overview
Committed
to mapping a learning path that will suit the needs of each child, the
Maria Montessori School of the Golden Gate first arranges an appointment
in which the parent and student may interact with the teacher and
explore the unique classroom setting. Following enrollment, students of
the Maria Montessori School of the Golden Gate are placed in a class
that caters to their stage in development. The Maria Montessori School
of the Golden Gate offers education at several levels, including a
preschool. The Maria Montessori School of The Golden Gate further
accommodates the growing child through daycare sessions from 7:30 A.M.
to 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.. The Maria Montessori School of
the Golden Gate opened in 1972 under the leadership of education
advocate Dr. Ursula Thrush. Also the founder of the Maria Montessori
Teacher Training Center in San Francisco, Dr. Ursula Thrush studied at
the International School For Montessori Teacher Education in Bergamo,
Italy. Dr. Ursula Thrush sought to apply the skills she gained at the
prestigious institution and to guide students in physical, social,
emotional, and cognitive development. Students of the Maria Montessori
School of the Golden Gate are presented with the freedom to blossom and
discover their own potential, thereby becoming more likely to grow into
confident, capable adults. Today, the Maria Montessori School of the
Golden Gate faculty includes directors hired and trained by Dr. Ursula
Thrush herself. The staff of the Maria Montessori School of the Golden
Gate remain dedicated to Dr. Thrush’s vision and continue to receive
guidance from her publications, including Peace 101: The Introduction of
Peace Education as a Mandatory Subject of Education and Cosmic
Education According to Montessori.
