MasterShield
Overview
For
those who battle dirty, clogged rain gutters, there is hope.
MasterShield Gutter Protection systems use patented technology to keep
debris, birds, and insects out of gutters to ensure only water passes
through them. As a result, gutters are kept free flowing and water
related damage from a gutter clog is eliminated.
MasterShield’s
completely enclosed system uses a proprietary surgical grade stainless
steel micromesh that keeps even the smallest particles and debris from
entering the gutter. This eco-friendly setup features LeafRelease, a
non-stick surface built into the micro mesh; its porous surface allows
air to circulate so that leaves and other organic debris dries quickly,
allowing it to be blown away in a breeze. MasterShield gutter guards
install under the first course of shingles and attach to the gutter’s
front edge via stainless steel screws. This method of installation has
been approved by the nation’s largest roof shingle manufacturer, in part
because it does not fasten directly to the roof. Its micro mesh
membrane covers most of the open airspace over a gutter; it won’t create
a dry space for birds or bees to nest. A drip edge keeps the front of
the gutters clean, and a patented HydroVortex technology carries water
through the filter and into the gutters quickly. (To see MasterShield

MasterShield
can be color matched to your existing gutters, although its virtually
invisible low profile often blends into the roof line. The paint finish
comes with a 20-year warranty against fading, peeling, and cracking and
the system’s dual I-beam construction offers superior support against
heavy loads like snow. Many independently owned dealers of
MasterShield’s self-cleaning gutter guards offer an outstanding
warranty. MasterShield’s own warranty even covers paying a homeowner
policy deductible of up to $1,500 should a gutter clog cause water
damage to a home. MasterShield gutter guards can be installed on most
types and sizes of gutters.
Inventor
Alex Higginbotham exhaustively researched gutter protection technology
and designed the original technology that evolved into MasterShield in
1999. Since then, many have copied components of his system, but none
compare to knowledge built up from more than a decade fo further
improvements and advances. On the MasterShield website,
mastershield.com, readers can access additional videos about the
technology, read more about using and managing rainwater around a home
in their blog, and obtain in-depth information on MasterShield.
