I met Tina Melo Kufner in the summer of 1995 while working at Converse. I worked with, and used the services of Tina Kufner and her company. My manager at the time Dan Richard and I liked Tina, her enthusiasm, energy and knowledge of the fashion industry.
We enlisted her services to cover trade shows for us, such as Premier Vision in Paris, and Linneapelle in Bologna . We also used her to plan out shopping trips for myself and other designers when they traveled abroad in places like London, Paris, Munich, and San Tropez. While at Converse we enlisted her services for several seasons until she decided to devote herself full time to being a mother and wife, she went on maternity leave and then sold her company.
Tina impressed many people with her knowledge of the fashion industry; she was respected for her design sense, and creative ideas for product. She was also a wonderful person to work with, she has a great enthusiasm for life, is outgoing, charming, and a truly caring individual.
In 1999 I was then at the Timberland Company and continued to use the products and books that Tina had originally developed. I worked with the person she sold her company to Julia Richter, and continued for a few years to purchase her books Melo de lux.
