About Cure 4 the Kids

The Cure 4 the Kids Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada, which provides charitable support to further scientific research, education, and clinical services for children with cancer, blood disorders, and other complex illnesses. The Cure 4 the Kids Foundation was established in 2007 and supports the Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada, formerly known as the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases of Las Vegas. The Center was founded by Dr. Jonathan Bernstein and is Nevada’s only nonprofit outpatient clinic to offer services provided by board certified pediatric specialists in hematology, oncology, rheumatology, immunology, endocrinology, and psychology. Additionally, the Cure 4 the Kids Foundation helps support Nevada’s only federally recognized treatment center for hemophilia.

Cure 4 the Kids Foundation has helped the Children’s Specialty Center to become a leading provider of care and support for children and families who are uninsured or underinsured. By funding services in the southern Nevada region, Cure 4 the Kids Foundation helps young patients, who previously had to travel to Salt Lake City, Phoenix, or Los Angeles, to obtain services locally.

The continuing economic crisis makes the work of Cure 4 the Kids Foundation all the more significant. The vision of Cure 4 the Kids Foundation’s founder, Dr. Bernstein, is that no child shall be denied care due to a family’s inability to pay for service. Thanks to local volunteers and fundraising efforts, as well as the support of national programs like the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Cure 4 the Kids Foundation is helping to make Dr. Bernstein’s vision a reality.
